Author Guidelines

Open Access Press welcomes proposals for monographs, edited volumes, conference proceedings and research tools.

How to submit. Proposals must be submitted through this platform, after registration, and must include: title; abstract (250–500 words); table of contents; a short biography of the author or editor; the full text or one or more sample chapters; a note on any images and tables.

Evaluation. Proposals are assessed by the editorial board on the basis of quality, originality and relevance. A scientific committee is currently being established to support the editorial board in the evaluation of works. Authors are normally notified within 4 weeks.

Publication contribution. To ensure the sustainability of the open access model — which keeps every book free for readers, forever — a contribution towards editorial costs is required:

  • € 500.00 + VAT for publication starting from a final PDF provided by the author;
  • € 850.00 + VAT for texts up to 150 pages, if page layout is handled by the publisher;
  • where tables and images are present, the contribution is assessed case by case with a dedicated quote.

The contribution is due only for accepted works and may be covered by the author, their institution or research funds. The digital edition remains free for all readers; a print-on-demand edition is available on request.

Formats. Texts under evaluation should be submitted as .docx or PDF files. Final images must be provided in high resolution (at least 300 dpi), together with any permissions for third-party materials.

Languages. Works in Italian and English are accepted.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  1. The work has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another publisher (or an explanation is provided in the Comments).
  2. The file is in .docx or PDF format.
  3. Permissions for third-party materials (images, tables, texts) have been obtained or are being obtained.
  4. The author has read and accepts the financial conditions and the Creative Commons license stated in the Guidelines.

Copyright Notice

Authors retain copyright and grant Open Access Press the right of first publication. The work is released under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0), which allows sharing provided that the author and first publication with this press are credited. Authors may deposit the work in institutional repositories and share it on their own websites.

Privacy Statement

The names and email addresses entered on this site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes (management of the editorial process, communications regarding publications, notifications to registered users) and will not be made available to third parties or used for any other purpose.
